Email:

Sean McCourt returned to McCallie in 2012. After graduating from Boston University's School of Education in 1999, he came to Chattanooga to coach under McCallie legend Richard "Doc" Swanson. Despite falling in love with McCallie and Chattanooga, Sean departed for Philadelphia to pursue a spot on the US Rowing team. In the spring of 2000, he narrowly missed his dream after placing second in the US trials for the lightweight pair. After stepping aside from competitive rowing, he began working at the Caspersen Olympic Training Center in Princeton, NJ where he met his wife Megan, current McCallie assistant rowing coach, while she was training for the Olympics. After serving there for the next decade, he had the chance to return to McCallie to teach in the upper school history department. Since his return he has taught both freshman and sophomore world history. After class, Sean heads up McCallie's rowing team and is an adviser in Burns Dorm. Sean enjoys cheering on his hometown Philadelphia Eagles and watching classic movies in his spare time. He lives on campus with his wife Megan and their twins, Connor and Caitlin, son Gavin, and labs Bo and Duke.
