McCallie golfer Pierce Grant continued an impressive stretch of golf Tuesday, capturing the Individual Boys Championship after firing a 3-under-par 69.
The victory marks Grant's third individual tournament title in the month of August, highlighting a remarkable run of consistency to begin the season. Grant has now shot under par in six consecutive 18-hole tournament rounds.
Grant led the way for the Blue Tornado, finishing at the top of the individual leaderboard and once again setting the pace for McCallie.
While Grant has made winning a habit this month, his consistency may be just as impressive as the three victories. Shooting under par in six straight tournament rounds demonstrates the level of play he has maintained throughout August as he continues to establish himself as one of the area's top golfers.
As a team, McCallie finished third out of 15 teams, posting a team score of 304 (+16).
Joining Grant in the Blue Tornado lineup were JRob Neal, who shot a 76, Casper Johansson with a 79, and Will Elrod with an 80.
With a deep roster continuing to compete for spots in the lineup, McCallie will return to practice this week looking to build on its third-place team finish. But individually, August has belonged to Grant.
Three tournament victories. Six consecutive rounds under par. And another championship performance with a 3-under 69.
Grant and the Blue Tornado will look to carry that momentum into the remainder of the season.
