At McCallie, the Blue Tornado won two of three doubles matches and three singles matches to defeat MBA 5-4 in middle school tennis.
The doubles teams of Raine Lyons and Grant Perry and Hugh Gerwin and Jack Rowlett earned victories to give the home team a 2-1 lead. Needing three singles wins to clinch the match, No. 4 player Hugh Gerwin was the first to win, followed by Grant Perry at No. 5. The deciding match came at No. 2 singles, where Teddy Osborne pulled out an 8-5 victory to secure the win for McCallie.
The victory marked McCallie's first Fall season win over MBA since 2022 and brought the traveling trophy back to McCallie after spending far too long in Nashville.
The McCallie B team also defeated the MBA B team, 11-1. Winners included Reed Soni, Felix Windmuller, Tyler Strickland, Hudson Whaley, James Anderson, Kaden Pryor, Jack Rowlett, Fisher Moore, Mac Lawson, and Arnav Palanati. The last time McCallie's B team defeated MBA during the Fall season was 2021.
