CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Excellence was on full display throughout the 2025–26 school year as McCallie Athletics captured six TSSAA State Championships, further cementing the Blue Tornado's reputation as one of the premier athletic programs in the South.
Championships came from Cross Country, Crew, Track & Field, Soccer, Wrestling, and Lacrosse, showcasing the depth, consistency, and championship culture that defines McCallie Athletics.
The remarkable accomplishment reflects the dedication of student-athletes, coaches, and support staff across every season. Whether competing on the course, the water, the mat, the field, or the track, Blue Tornado athletes embraced the challenge of competing at the highest level while representing the values of Honor. Truth. Duty.
The fall championship season began with McCallie's cross country program once again reaching the top of the podium, setting the tone for what would become a memorable year. As the seasons progressed, the Blue Tornado continued to build momentum, with the crew team earning another state title before the spring delivered an incredible championship run.
McCallie Soccer capped its season with a 3-1 victory over Briarcrest Christian School in the TSSAA Division II-AA State Championship. Led by Finn Arnold, who scored two goals and was named the championship match's Most Valuable Player, the Blue Tornado claimed another gold ball for Chattanooga.
On the wrestling mat, McCallie continued its long-standing tradition of excellence, producing another state championship team through determination, discipline, and relentless preparation.
The Blue Tornado also dominated in Track & Field, where athletes delivered outstanding performances throughout the state meet to secure another championship trophy. Meanwhile, the lacrosse program completed an exceptional season by bringing home a state title, highlighting the continued growth and success of one of Tennessee's top programs.
Winning six state championships in a single school year is a testament to the culture that has been built throughout McCallie Athletics. Across every sport, student-athletes are challenged to pursue excellence not only in competition but also in the classroom and within the community.
"This achievement belongs to every athlete, coach, trainer, manager, parent, and supporter who pours into our programs each day," said Athletic Director Kenny Sholl. "Our teams compete with toughness, selflessness, and pride while representing McCallie the right way. Winning six state championships is a reflection of the culture our student-athletes have worked so hard to build."
As another remarkable year comes to a close, the six championship trophies serve as more than a measure of victories—they represent the commitment, sacrifice, and brotherhood that define McCallie Athletics.
With six state championships added to the school's storied tradition, the Blue Tornado once again proved that excellence isn't limited to one team or one season—it's a standard.
