CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The McCallie School football team begins its postseason journey tonight, Friday, November 6, as the Blue Tornado hosts Father Ryan in the opening round of the TSSAA Division II-AAA State Playoffs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Spears Stadium.
McCallie enters the playoffs with a 4-6 record after closing the regular season with a 31-26 road victory over Christ Presbyterian Academy last Friday. The Blue Tornado will look to carry that momentum into tonight's matchup as it begins its pursuit of another state championship.
The two teams are no strangers to one another, having met earlier this season in Nashville. McCallie earned a 23-16 victory over Father Ryan on September 4 and will look to complete the season sweep tonight.
Father Ryan enters the contest with a 3-7 record, setting up a rematch with much higher stakes. With the regular season behind them, both teams will be competing to keep their postseason hopes alive.
The winner of tonight's game will advance to the Division II-AAA state quarterfinals, where Brentwood Academy awaits on November 13.
